This week we’re supporting alternative education in the frame of the School Otherwise programme in our spaces at ARCUB, through a series of activities for kids in Bucharest, in partnership with the Bucharest School Inspectorate.
A rainy Wednesday is perfect for inside activities, such as crafting beautiful things. So we decided to spend our time with students at the “I. N. Socolescu” Technical College for Architecture and Public Work. We asked ourselves how we measure time in the city, where and why it is still important to note our daily memories. We started with numerical and geometrical exercises, with a plan to design an urban watch. Because clockmaking is an urban craft, one that slowly turns silent – and perhaps it shouldn’t be quite so.
